2026 Reallusion 3D Character Contest - Kohaku

A silent guardian born from the heart of the First Tree, carrying the memories of a forgotten world.

Kohaku is an Original Character inspired by mixing Japanese and European folklore, Shinto spirituality, and the ephemeral beauty of nature. My goal was to create a character whose story could be felt before a single word was spoken, where every design choice serves a purpose within her own mythology.

According to legend, before humankind existed, the First Tree remembered the true name of all things. During a mysterious eclipse, the sacred tree shattered, and from its amber heart emerged Kohaku—already grown, silent, and crowned with blooming branches.

She wanders the ancient forests as the last guardian against oblivion, preserving the memory of everything the world has forgotten. The amber within her body carries the last memory of the First Tree, while every flower blooming from her branches represents a memory that still survives.
